Mug Station

I’m taking part in the Pinterest Challenge and sharing the mug station I put together in our dining room! I’ve seen a few of these on Pinterest and have been hoping to make one of these for quite a while now but didn’t think there was really a place for one since my kitchen isn’t very big. Then one day the lightbulb went off and this empty corner screamed “I’m the perfect place!” I had already purchased the shelf at Hobby Lobby months back in hopes of someday putting it to use for this purpose, so all I had to do was track down a little cabinet. Not wanting to spend a lot, I found this on Craigslist for $35 which was a lot cheaper than anything I was finding in stores! Plus, it was white, which I was hoping for to break up all the dark brown in the room. I filled it with mugs and some of my favorite items and used my ceramic fruit basket to hold some hot chocolate since I’m not a coffee drinker. The cabinet has an open shelf on top which gave me the perfect excuse to buy two baskets from the Nate Berkus line at Target that I had my eye on. Not only is this cute, but it’s totally practical since it cleared out 2 shelves in the kitchen! My mug collection was overflowing in there and now I actually have room to expand. Yay!

(Sorry for the Instagram photo! It was all I had for now and I wanted to share this today! I’ll try to update this post later with a better photo.)

This is so cute! our poor mugs have to live in a drawer, but I love how they look on hooks!

Bummer! It’s no fun when pretty things have to hide! Here’s hoping you can do something about that!

How lovely! I love this…I am going to pin and keep it for when we move again…we have no spot for it now, but definitely will later! I like how you styled everything and the shelf is awesome!

Somehow I never subscribed when you switched over to here…funny how I saw this and recognized it on the link party. Now I’ve got you loaded on google reader! Love the coffee center, of course. It’s coffee and a center. Good stuff.

I love this. Wish I had room in my house for this. My kitchen is tiny.. too bad because I really want one of these now. :)

Maybe look around and see if there are other places? Our kitchen had no room either, but I found this spot in the dining room that works great and is just around the corner from the kitchen so it still works well there! Good luck!

THANK YOU! I LOVE this….been looking for just the right shelf/basket/hook system for my tea bar. I just went to Hobby Lobby online and got a 40% off coupon plus shipping for $1.95. Now that’s a deal! Mahalo & Aloha~
